Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
Do you know of any Humongous games that were released on the GBC, because there have been hundreds of videogames made for kids (including LEGO Island 2) and I wondered if it would be awesome to see Putt-Putt in one?
Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
Nope. The 3DO and the PS1 were the only game consoles the games got made on.
Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
The PS1 version of Pajama Sam 3 had a PAL release, but you'll probably hate it.

Well, I'll have to look for it and see what it's like. And if I don't like it, I'll use it as a beer coaster, use it as a clay pigeon for BB gun training, scrape it across pavements, throw it into a construction site, throw it at the hyenas at the zoo, throw it at the bullies, eat it, catch it on fire and play Hot Potato, flush it down the toilet, and last, but not least, stomp on it. But according to naturical research, hyenas don't eat things that are not food, so don't expect them to rip it to pieces...

Don't do that, it's a collectors item! Anyway, here's the UK PAL release. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBFgvZrloF0
The French release is in French, German in German, Italian in Italian, etc.

Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
It kinda sucks since the Humongous games were only made on 2 consoles... if at least one of the post-1998 Humongous games (as well as Thunder and Lightning aren't so Frightening) WAS released on the Gameboy Colour, what do you think it should look like?
And speaking of PAL releases, you are what you Eat from your Head to your Feet isn't the only PlayStation game with both my dub (British) and your dub (American), even if I do say so myself. There have been other PlayStation games with UK and US dubs. Can we Fix it, Noddy's Magic Adventure, and Tweenies Game Time are to name a few, as well Play with the Teletubbies. OH MY GOD that was an awful game!

And yet Backyard Soccer received a name change... and nothing else.
Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
Of course, keep in mind that a ton of the Backyard games were released for consoles such as the GameCube, GBA, Playstation 2, etc.

God, Backyard Baseball must be considered the best Humongous game, so they ported the Backyard Sports to the other consoles!
Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
That... doesn't even begin to describe what a Cash Cow the Backyard Sports games became.
Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
So much so that they even stopped trying at one point and still made money. Now that's what you call a Cash Cow.
Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
Can anyone here draw a cow with dollar bills coming out of its udders and "Backyard Sports" written above it?

Don't forget about the Wii, Nintendo DS and digiBLAST releases.
Anyway, I wonder why the 3DO and the PS1 are the only consoles the HE games were released on. It would have been great to see the rest of them being released on the Nintendo 64, Sony PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, Original Xbox, etc. There was nothing wrong with video game platforms, so I've been wondering why recently.

Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
They were such failures? There were PS2 and GCN versions of the 3d Backyard games, but the less said the better.
Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
Well, for starters half the problem is that, in a game where you point and click on the screen, it generally doesn't do you very well to use a game controller. Some games have tried it, like with the PS1 port of Pajama Sam 3, but it usually just doesn't work.

Thanks. If the Junior Arcade games could have been planned for release for various video game consoles from a couple generations, it would have been great.
Re: Humongous games for the Gameboy Color?
Some games were also wise enough to add in mouse control as an option, like the PS1 ports of the Broken Sword and Discworld series, or Lemmings on the SNES. Come to think of it, all these games have something in common.

There was a PS1 mouse? Huh, learn something new everyday.GeorgeQGreg wrote:Some games were also wise enough to add in mouse control as an option, like the PS1 ports of the Broken Sword and Discworld series
