Putt-Putt's Fun House
Nimbus Games have released a new app today. It's basically a bunch of different puzzles/activities to do such as crosswords and word searches. Nothing particularly exciting, in my opinion. It's free to download on the App Store but to unlock the full "game" you have to pay $2.99. Check is out here: https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=643349202&mt=8
WindowsTV, is this the game that you were excited to test?

Am I the only one who thinks Putt is either derping or trolling his face in this artwork? I'm pretty sure his eyes are usually taller...

Wow! In the app's description, they stated that "everyone's favorite purple convertible is back." I guess they wanted to do something amazing after ten years of the release of the previous Putt-Putt Junior Adventure. I also like the way the background was reused from "Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo" (including a few elements), but I'm not sure if the apps originally made by Nimbus Games are going to be distributed by Atari for the PC. This makes me wish Nimbus would make more Junior Adventure games as their own.
Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
Considering Atari's about to go bust, I doubt they'll be "distributing" anything anytime soon.
Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
Nimbus really milks Putt-Putt too much. We all love Putt-Putt, but let's face it, Pajama Sam is better.

He's probably more popular right now because of Pixar's Cars franchise. But guess who came first!

What are the better things about the Pajama Sam series? I'm still a lover of the Putt-Putt series because I always think it's amazing most of the time.
Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
I just think Pajama Sam is more of a creative concept, but that's just me. What I'm saying is that I think they should release equal amounts of all the characters. Putt Putt has 3 or so releases, the rest have 1 or 2.

I know, but to begin with, there are over seven Putt-Putt Junior Adventure games, two Putt-Putt Junior Arcade games, and a couple of spin-off games. I am still hoping that they will make more Junior Adventures because we haven't seen a new one being made for ten years. Thanks for your input.

Ay. We're all hoping for another. If it's a Putt-Putt I'll be just as happy. Hell, I'd even go for another Fatty Bear.

What are the ideas for the new Fatty Bear games then?
Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
Maybe:
There could be a toy thief who steals Fatty Bear, he has to get back to Kayla? (and help the other stolen toys?)
Something that Fatty is doing at Kayla's school, maybe she could lose him there, and he's trapped overnight, or something else?
There could be a new toy, and he or she fights with Fatty (I think Toy Story has influenced me!)
Kayla could lose Fatty at a store
Probably other ideas I can't remember right now too...

Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
How about a game called "Fatty Bear's Vacation" where, en route to a vacation with Kayla and her family, he gets lost somewhere. Then he has to seek the help of local toys to find Kayla. Kinda like "Moon" in a way. I dunno, I never thought Fatty Bear was a great idea.

Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
Hmm... maybe that could be exploited, to have a "geography" angle, know what I mean? :D
Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
Kind of scary how so many of these ideas for Fatty Bear games are similar to stuff in the Toy Story movies. I guess part of the challenge will be to come up with something not explored in that series yet.

For those who didn't notice, I think Putt-Putt is popular due to a UK TV show made by Ragdoll Productions called "Brum." It's very similar, but I assume it inspired HE to do the Putt-Putt games after two years of the first Putt-Putt book made in 1990 (the show started in 1991). Have any of you guys watched it?Retrodude wrote:He's probably more popular right now because of Pixar's Cars franchise. But guess who came first!

That is very interesting, comrade. I have not seen it, but I must point out that Putt-Putt's first game came out in '92.

Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
Doubt it, apparently Putt-Putt started as a series of bedtime stories by Shelley Day herself.

I know, but the original series started in 1991, a year after the creation of the Putt-Putt bedtime stories, while it ended up with the second season in 1994. The modern series (which is what I personally like) was produced from 2001 to 2002. I even remember watching it on Discovery Kids back in 2003.MrEightThreeOne wrote:Doubt it, apparently Putt-Putt started as a series of bedtime stories by Shelley Day herself.

Hmm, or how about Fatty Bear tries to solve a murder mystery that occurs on a train ride with Kayla's family? The Hitchcock-esque intro used in the Birthday Surprise demo would work PERFECTLY there!

Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
Toy thief - Toy Story 2's main plotGeorgeQGreg wrote:So many? You mean one? Or am I missing something?
Gets stuck at Kayla's school overnight - somewhat similar to the situation at Sunnyside in Toy Story 3
Accidentally abandoned on a vacation -
- Spoiler:
- Lotso's backstory in Toy Story 3, also the original story treatment for the first movie
I'd suggest something about one of the toys being recalled, but that would be Disney's lost version of Toy Story 3. Kind of hard to be original, isn't it?
Re: Putt-Putt's Fun House
To answer the very first part about this, yes I was excited to test it, but when I did it wasn't as fun as it sounded :(, but I'm ok with it found two bugs got payed and enjoyed doing it!
