Audio Issues with the MS-DOS versions of HE games on Windows 98
Hey guys,
I have an HP Vectra VL 6/350 Series 8 DT PC with Windows 98 on it. I am trying to run the MS-DOS versions of the HE games on it (even though the Windows versions work on the same PC), but every time I install one of them, the audio is muted during the gameplay after choosing a default sound card setting on the installation screen. I know they work in ScummVM on my Windows 7 Home Premium PC, but I feel like running them off the original .EXE files on Windows 98. What could be the issue? Maybe I either picked the wrong setting or I have an incorrect sound card? If there is a way I can fix this issue, please let me know.
Thanks,
CEO100able

Usually this is caused by having a PCI sound card, but some have ISA emulators available. What sound card do you have?
Response
I don't know because the sound card I have comes with the Windows 98 PC. I tried looking at the BIOS settings, but I could not find anything about the type and name of it.

My computer, device manager, sound and other things. Should be under there.
Response
I checked, and my Windows 98 PC has an audio device named "Aztech 2320 Compatible PnP Sound (WDM)."

My Google-fu found this, which should work. ftp://ftp.hs-merseburg.de/pub/hardware/sound/aztech/AZTPNP.ZIP
Seems you actually have ISA PNP, not PCI, which is very good. Not nearly as bad.
