No, these were all found in-person at thrift stores. I live near St. Louis, MO but I've never found any LucasArts or Sierra games until this week. I also found a boxed copy of Quest for Glory 5, but it was $7 and I didn't think that was worth it when I could get the whole series on GOG for $10.

So, I went to Half-Price Books today, and found these games:
RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 -- They were actually selling this one brand new, boxed up. It was only the vanilla game, but I hardly care since apparently the expansions for this game sucked (they only added reskins of old rides). I now finally own the complete series!
Just Grandma and Me V2 -- Not exactly my favorite Living Book in the world, but I mainly bought this to test what Greg said about the sand minigame. As it turns out, it runs pretty well on a Windows 9x machine. On a modern computer...yeah, you'd be lucky if you can build anything. It was only $2 anyway.
Tonka Search & Rescue -- Finally found it again. So now I can relive all the horrible hit detection it has!
I also saw I Spy Junior and the PSX port of Lego Island 2 there, but I passed them up because I really don't care for them. I may grab that copy of LI2 on another visit though.

Well, here I am again. This time I went to a movie trading store that also holds video games, old and new (as far back as the Atari 2600!), and even sells old consoles too. They're really overpriced unfortunately, but I guess if they can convince you it's worth it, more power to them. They had a Buy 2 Get 1 special, so I bought three games:
Donkey Kong Country 3 GBA -- I have the first two GBA ports and have 100%-ed them both, and I was hesitant for a long time to buy this one mainly because I was weary about the fact they replaced all of the music in the game. It plays okay, I guess, though the music hasn't grown on me very well so far.
Escape from Monkey Island PS2 -- Apparently this is a rare version of the game, and it was only ten dollars compared to the fifteen to twenty it goes for on eBay, so I figured I had nothing to lose. I haven't played it yet, but I've heard some pretty mixed things about this game. One thing that's really discomforting (which I couldn't find out until I opened the game up, since they shrink wrap all of their games) is that my copy is a former Blockbuster rental! They at least have the decency to put the games through a disc repair, but still...
Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge PS1 -- I had played the original all the time when I was a kid on the PC, and decided it was time to give the sequel a go. Apparently it's really tame compared to the Nintendo Hard original, but still enjoyable in its own right.

Aaaaaand third post in a row. Sorry about this, but I've been finding lots of things lately and I might as well share.
Earthworm Jim for Windows 95 -- Roadgeek says he played this non-stop when he was young, and I can't blame him, it's a pretty fun game. It works pretty well on my 486 I might add.
Logitech Wingman Extreme Joystick -- I have an old joystick somewhere but I have no idea where it went. This one caught my eye anyway because it was all boxed up, and even though I had little use for it, I thought it'd be cool to have. The nice thing is that it has a native driver in Windows 95, so installing it was simple.

The PC ports of EWJ IMO have the best soundtrack.
Re: Post your latest swapmeet/thrift store/bargain bin/Amazon/etc. buys
To those that didn't see it on Twitter, I managed to find a copy of the original 1995 release of Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo at a thrift store. I'm still baffled by Putt's lack of eyebrows on the cover art, especially since they use the exact same art on the back cover WITH the eyebrows. Oh, also, did anyone else with a 1995 copy notice they said the game took place at the "Cartoon Zoo" on the back? Talk about a typo.

Today I went to a goodwill and I found a few things that caught my eye I picked up 3 games today so lets start first game I got was frogger for the pc and the game acctually works in windows 7 which is cool. Re: Post your latest swapmeet/thrift store/bargain bin/Amazon/etc. buys
And another find to add to the pile...
Toy Story Activity Center -- I had this game as a kid though I never really enjoyed it all too much. I didn't have any plans on picking it up ever again, but I just happened to find it so yeah. It was made alongside the Animated Storybook as well, and it's animated by Pixar themselves just like that game. It also has to same amazingly colorful graphics that the AS has, which I wouldn't be bringing up except for the fact that they squeezed it all onto a 256-color palette. It's pretty dang impressive.

Latest Amazon Splurge for me were Jump Start 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade. About 13 bucks for all three on Amazon. 3 cents for the discs (cross my fingers and knock on wood that they turn out ok) and the rest of it was on shipping.
Re: Post your latest swapmeet/thrift store/bargain bin/Amazon/etc. buys
Amazon's shipping is crazy, isn't it?
Re: Post your latest swapmeet/thrift store/bargain bin/Amazon/etc. buys
Yeah man. Games that I got cost me 3 cents (all with Used-Acceptable) but the shipping was $13.12.
Re: Post your latest swapmeet/thrift store/bargain bin/Amazon/etc. buys
Actually, I hear that's why so many games and whatnot have that price. Amazon doesn't let sellers choose the price charged for shipping, and it usually costs less, so they simply profit out of the excess shipping cost! Naturally, importers get screwed over big time.
Re: Post your latest swapmeet/thrift store/bargain bin/Amazon/etc. buys
And now, perhaps one of my most epic finds, which you may have seen on Twitter. I went to Salvation Army, and I have usually complained about how stupidly overpriced their stuff is. However, it can also work in your favor, as it makes people more reluctant to buy things that may be more than they think is worth -- such was the case when I stopped by today and found a COMPLETELY BOXED UP COPY of Zork Zero for...the...Apple II? Well, I've never owned an Apple II in my life (I'd love to use one some day though), but you can't deny that's a pretty amazing find. It even included all the feelies and everything! Awesome! I'll probably be selling this one on eBay sometime soon.
Re: Post your latest swapmeet/thrift store/bargain bin/Amazon/etc. buys
Well, today was the Hamfest, which is basically an electronics and radio flea market. I got some interesting stuff, and so did my brother!
First thing we found was a guy selling some older stuff which included 3 NES cartridges. He had Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, which we got despite already having a copy. We're planning on trading it in at Play N Trade along with my brother's old DSiXL when we go in for his birthday present of a 3DSXL. But that's one of only 3. The other two were a Rad Racer cart, as well as... Tengen's unlicensed RBI Baseball. I was surprised enough to find this here, and the game works pretty well. My brother's playing it as I type this, and he actually enjoys it a lot.
Just the tip of the iceberg, though. I also made away with quite the haul of CD-ROM games. The list is as follows:
MegaRace -1993 DOS by Mindscape
Alien Logic - 1994 DOS by SkyRealms
D/Generation - 1991(!) DOS by Mindscape
Metal Marines - 1995 Windows by Mindscape/Namco (Seems to be a PC port of an arcade game, but I can't find any footage of this version on Youtube! Only SNES version seems to be on there.)
The Secret Island of Dr. Quandary - 1992 DOS by MECC and GT Interactive (It seems this game might also be available on Abandonia, good to know in case this copy doesn't work.)
10 for $10 Pak - Some sort of compilation by Electronic Arts. I'm not sure yet if this actually contains full games or it's a demo disc. Either way, it has the following games on it:
-Extreme Pinball
-Grand Slam Bridge II
-Populous II
-PowerPOKER
-SEAL Team
-Strike Commander
-The Complete Ultima VII
-Ultrabots
-Wing Commander II: Vengeance of the Kilrathi Deluxe Edition
-Chuck Yeager's Air Combat
Edit: It appears that yes, these are the full versions of the games, at least according to the disc's Amazon listing. Speaking of which, there are only TWO copies of it on Amazon, and the guy selling them is charging $74.98 for them. Is this thing supposed to be rare? I have no idea, because I haven't seen the pack anywhere else, even on eBay.
He also let me take away a couple driver discs that I have no use for, one for some monitor display, one for a really OLD printer, and one for a Logitech Wingman that he didn't even have being sold. Oh, and there's also a screensaver pack there too. I figure it was a good enough deal getting the games for this price, and I figure that I could eventually sell the drivers and screensaver on eBay to somebody who needs theirs replaced. The seller told me he needed to get the stuff off of his hands anyways, since he's got more than enough crap at home. I suppose if he didn't, he wouldn't be selling at a flea market, eh?
Altogether, the 3 NES carts cost 6 dollars, while the CD-ROMs cost $5. I'd say today was a good day.

Now that my entire order from Amazon has arrived, might as well share about it. I ordered...
-Super Duper Arcade 1
-Super Duper Arcade 2
-Freddi Fish 3
SDA1 arrived first, and to my surprise it was the wrong game, the disc inside was SDA2. The next one that arrived was Freddi Fish 3, which came with the manual and disc, but no case which was weird. And now today, my real copy of SDA2 has arrived in less than amazing condition, the disc is good but the case is meh. So now i have TWO copies of SDA2. I was maybe hoping that the discs were swapped during shipping, but that wasn't the case. So now i have to ship the first one back. What a great first amazon experience...

Re: Post your latest swapmeet/thrift store/bargain bin/Amazon/etc. buys
Just got back from the Salvation Army thrift store and came back with quite a haul so here are the things I got
Backyard baseball: I was amazed I found this it is the one that came with General Mills cereal it is still in its cd sleeve that it came with and it has no scratches on it.
Microsoft pinball arcade: I have never played this game before but I have seen the commercial for the game on YouTube.
Rescue heroes meteor madness: samething I have not played this before either but I know I wanted it so bad as a kid when thay had it on the shelves.
And the last thing I got was Forrest Gump movie on VHS which I've only seen half of the movie but it should be a good movie. So that is my haul from the Salvation Army thrift store.

While at Play N Trade, I snagged a Gamecube copy of Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer for 99 cents. Haven't gotten a chance to play it yet, but judging by Youtube videos and my experience with its sister series, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, it should be a pretty good game.
Re: Post your latest swapmeet/thrift store/bargain bin/Amazon/etc. buys
Well I got the best thing I got at a thrift store they had two of them there the first one there was a dell deminsion e 310 which had windows xp media center edition 2005 with a sd card slot and a DVD rom drive and also a DVD rw drive. But that computer was 29.99 and also had no hard drive. But the other one which I bought was a dell optiplex gx 520 tower which has windows xp pro has a intel pentium 4 ht I think it has a DVD or cd rom drive also has a floppy drive. The specs it has a 40 gig hard drive and I think it was upgraded to 2 gig of memory so that's what I picked up at a thrift store

Yesterday, when I went to one of my local Goodwill stores, I discovered a few PC games, such as Tonka Raceway, Tonka Search and Rescue, and Blue's Clues: Blue's ABC Time Activities. I already have those games though. At that time, I also discovered that they had several original Xbox titles, two PlayStation 2 games and one Wii game. However, I did not purchase any of them because I was checking to see if they have other things I like.
Over the years, I have purchased PC and console games from thrift stores, such as Lego Island, Jeopardy! (1995 version), Wheel of Fortune (1995 version), Snap!: Algebra, Need for Speed: Underground (I purchased the original Xbox version in 2012. Plus I might get the PlayStation 2 version someday), Galswin - 5th and 6th Grade: Math, Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator: WWII Europe Series, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 (original version, though I can't get this one to work), Lionel Trains: Trains-Con!, etc.
Note: This post talks about my thrift store purchases.

I don’t really go to the Thrift Store for rare games, I go there for other non-CDRom stuff. But I did get my copy of Freddi Fish 4 (2002 Atari release) from a Trash & Treasure in Woden (they have those all the time on weekends).

Infact, I'm pretty sure they DON'T have people selling CD-Roms nowadays.AaronReturn2005 wrote:I don’t really go to the Thrift Store for rare games, I go there for other non-CDRom stuff.
