Data file Swapping! Empty Data file Swapping!

Post by zdrmonster12 Wed Jun 26, 2019 7:29 pm

We all know the way to swap Music files between Humongous Entertainment Games. however, it works with other data files as well!

The experiment consists of 2 Humongous Classics: Putt-Putt goes to the Moon and Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise.

I tried swapping Fatty Bear's Data files with Putt Putt's, and it worked! The reverse also works!

LIke swapping Music FIles, it's simple. just rename Each Data file of one Humongous game to another, then copy the renamed data files to the target game! (What I mean by data files are files with the following extensions (Note: DOS Version SPECIFIC): HE0, HE1, and TLK (And for Putt-Putt joins the parade, HE3, and HE4) and Music Files are Windows Specific, they have the extension HE4.)

Not swapping the DRV file results in variants of the Midi Files being played, possibly because the "Sondfonts" for the Sound Blaster and Adlib sound cards are in the file.

Not sure if the trick will work for the other Humongous games (Because The windows games and Putt-Putt Joins the Parade DOS have Different Data File extensions than Putt-Putt goes to the Moon and Fatty Bear DOS.).

Anyways.. Have Fun with this trick!
