The UK English Dubs
Anyone who's had a good look at the ScummVM website will have noticed that there are UK dubs of some of the games. And they are quite funny!
Anyway, I'm going to throw some info of here for the releases: Firstly, what games were dubbed:
SPY Fox 1
SPY Fox 2
SPY Fox 3
Pajama Sam 2
Pajama Sam 3
Putt-Putt Time
Putt-Putt Race
Putt-Putt Circus
Freddi Fish 3
Freddi Fish 4
Freddi Fish 5
SPY Fox 1 was released in the US by accident. These games mostly come in DVD-style cases. Backyard Soccer was also released as Junior Sports Football, but was nearly unchanged. Footage of many of these can be seen on Obscurenforeign. Hondo has Pajama Sam 2, JuniorAdventurer has Freddi Fish 4. A lot of the Russian translations were based on these versions.

Re: The UK English Dubs
I had the SPY Fox 1 dub at one point, but I took it back because I wanted the American version.
I think I was the first to discover that dub.

When would that be? Because I found a DVD that I burned in around 2008 that had the demos from the ScummVM website on it. (Don't ask me! I was a bored kid!)

As soon as I find the DVD again, I'll tell you the date that's on the disc.
Re: The UK English Dubs
Oh really, Legoking? I got my copy of the British dub around 2005 or 2006.

No it wasn't. It was released in America without any mistakes. Wait a minute, don't you mean the BRITISH DUB, ah, I didn't quite understand what you meant by that!
Re: The UK English Dubs
I have the British dub of "Spy Fox 1." It's actually rather funny, and at times the voice acting isn't as good (like William the Kid's dull-sounding "Spy Fox..." near the end replacing "Spyyy FOOOOOOX!!!"), but I did like William's bleating-style laugh (he IS a goat, after all), and Mr. Udderly sounded REALLY weird (he talked really slowly, and almost sounded like a guy trying to imitate a woman!) Professor Quack also had more of a stereotypical "duck" voice (complete with occasional quacking effects), sort of like Ludwig Von Drake! I thought that voice fit him rather well.
Spy Fox's voice sort of fits, due to the 007 reference, but it also reminds me of this bizarre version of the Inspector Gadget pilot when the title character was voiced by Gary Owens:
At least they didn't put a big black mustache on Spy Fox for the British dub!
Ironically, Spy Fox actually reminds me quite a bit of Inspector Gadget; the Don Adams-esque voice (based off another Don Adams spy character, Maxwell Smart), his various gadgets and his bit of goofiness, not to mention a Moneypenny spoof (IG just had Penny, Spy Fox had Monkeypenny), and the acronym thing (IG's "M.A.D.," Spy Fox's "N.O.G." and "S.M.E.L.L.Y," all based off James Bond's S.P.E.C.T.R.E.)
Now the only thing missing is a shadowy supervillain whose face we never see, along with a right-hand cat, since James Bond had Ernst Blofeld (whose face wasn't revealed in the first couple of Bond films), and Inspector Gadget had Dr. Claw.

Re: The UK English Dubs
Well... this is interesting.
I don't know why I didn't notice this earlier, but when I opened up ScummVM today I noticed that the entry for my 1998 copy of Freddi Fish 1 listed it as follows
"Freddi Fish 1: The Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds (Updated/English (US))
The key part is bolded. It actually specifies that it is in American English, just as copies of the other English versions identify as being either from US or GB.
So, here's the overwhelming question: Was there a British dub of Freddi Fish 1?
Edit: After getting further down in the list of my ScummVM games, it also specifies Pajama Sam 1, as well as both of the Spy Fox Junior Arcade games as being US. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE?
Edit 1: It's not just the Spy Fox Jr. Arcades! Both of the Pajama Sam and Freddi Fish arcade games specify US English as well! I smell something fishy, and it isn't limited to Freddi and Luther.

Re: The UK English Dubs
It's just more Scummvm weirdness. My UK copies of Spy Fox 1 and the Time demo are both said to be American. Freddi Fish 1 definitely was not released with different acting, I already asked pizzaking.

Gah, then ScummVM must be driving me crazy. Too bad, though, 'cause if PJ Sam 1 had a Brit dub, then Spy Fox wouldn't be alone as the only series to have all of it's adventure installments localized for them.

To answer Retrodude's question, I DO have the UK version of Travels through Time from March 30, 2001. When I tried to download the American version off of Emuparadise, and overwrite the files, it won't let me play the game! Does any of you have any advice on how to run the game with American voice acting?
Re: The UK English Dubs
The voice files are incompatible with each version of the game. They only work with their own date. (You're mixing up different versions' files.)
And PLEASE RECORD FOOTAGE OF TIME!!!! :D

OK, uh, because of the error message i mentioned earlier, which also pops up everytime I start it, but I'll give you a screenshot when I get a chance!
Re: The UK English Dubs
The game gives an error? Is the data corrupted somehow? Bad disc?

I didn't pirate it. The songs WERE dubbed, unsurprisingly, and speaking of dubs, I think you're smart enough to decide what you'd like to write in my BBC article in the Other Games category! ;-)
