Redesigned Mac Menus!
So, there were three Backyard Sports games to include either online or LAN play. However, these features were Windows-only. Mac users got the short end of the stick. Due to this, the menus in the three games had tweaking done to compensate for this. Here are the three redesigned menus...
Here's the original Football. They actually did it quite seamlessly. If you played the Mac version without playing the Windows version, you wouldn't notice anything suspicious. They even adjusted the trophy due to the viewing angle! Now, Baseball 2001, on the other hand...
Good grief, could this look any more lazily done? They just snipped the online play right out of the picture. What, did they just expect people to not notice? There's a ton of empty space where some lovely thing could go!
Cut-and-paste goodness! This time, they replaced the graphics with Backyard Basketball stuff. Apart from the helmet looking a little...off... (probably because of the palette) I'd say it was done pretty seamlessly.
While we're on the subject of this, I also found this in the help file for Backyard Football 2002...
It looks like it was originally planned to have full-on online play rather than just plain ol' LAN play. In retrospect...thank goodness.

I highly doubt that. You know HE's track record.
Why did they even include online play in the first place? Did they honestly think a lot of kids would have internet at the time, especially WINDOWS users?

The Mac versions are hardly different. In fact, they're so similar to the Windows versions that I don't even know why they feel the need to store two entire copies of the same game on one disc.

That is probably the true reason the quality sucks. LA games would only have one version on the CD and they had 22khz audio.

I nearly buy 2 or more of the same videogame sometimes. (more notably with LI2, just to see if the loading screens are short, which the probably won't)
Re: Redesigned Mac Menus!
Or how about hating the games that are sort of from your own country? (The UK dubs were made in FRANCE. WACKY!)

Maybe because he hosted them on a file-hosting server that went down. Anyway, if I had pictures, I'd put them here, but I don't, so I can't, so I won't...
