Good screen recorder...
So lately, I have had an itch to record games but my current screen recorder (Debut Video Capture Software- Free edition) is giving me problems (low framerate) I want to know, what is a good, free screen recorder that records desktop audio?
Response
How about Camtasia Studio? It works well recording desktop audio and microphone audio at the same time. You can get the trial version here:

I've been using Bandicam for over a year now, aside from the water mark and it's 10 minute time limit from the free version, it's a darn good screen recorder, plus it's free with only those 2 downfalls. It's worked almost flawlessly for me for over a year now and the quality isn't too bad either. I recomend trying it at least. www.bandicam.com

Pah, Bandicam is the new Hypercam 2. And speaking of Hypercam 2, you can now get it free with no stupid watermark. They are bundling nasty toolbars with it now though, so BEWARE!

Lol, I honestly do need to get Hypercam 2 soon, Bandicam's watermark makes me puke whenever I look at it, and it's in all of my videos

I have used OBS. The interface is really complicated and the learning curve is a bit steep for my tastes, but once you learn it, it's a really good program that gets consistently high frame rates at good resolutions. The only downside is that it can only save in MP4 which most video editors still don't understand, but if that's really a problem you can always convert it with Format Factory.

Personally I prefer to work with lossless video in editing stages, saving compression for final output. If nothing else, it gives me some damn shiny videos.

Recording lossless is pretty intensive on the CPU though, and you can set the quality high enough that compression is negligible anyway.

Isn't compression intensive by nature?

OBS is great! I've used it and it's not that complicated for me, not sure about others tho. Just a few simple clicks and you can capture in 1080p.

I've used OBS to record from my HD capture card before. Makes it less fussy, but the quality is kinda low. VGA graphics go out of sync in virtual dub.
