This: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:wtRadIzcdR4J:https://learn.it.uts.edu.au/31002/support/dawson02gdc.PDF+&hl=en&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESgcevYrMwuw7SWJ2jkdMS0CJg-_pW-RS5dJHU8zBdAnvDygn2Vmw11qH1P_MtyZT-yoqJR-E8kf3TzPJmnM2N9O0OCxTlLvCkdikd2H23v50f9trRiC_OQUVR_QEJ0pC_qbgn-M&sig=AHIEtbSGUZqBGi6rHax8sfX1MTWTWmwoOg&pli=1 is an interesting PDF by Bruce Dawson, creator of Humongous' YAGA engine. It documents the move from the SCUMM to YAGA, the whats and whys.
It's definitely worth a read, if only for the golden line "Shipping scatological variable names with children’s games could cause a bit of a scandal." Rover

He just talks FAR too much about code, and not enough on Humongous, which is for kids! He's traumatizing kids with boring stuff!

It's not meant for kids, it's meant for employees.

Putt: Confused

But... but what if you want to program your own children's computer game, and you're, like, in college and stuff like me? Is that not allowed to be fun and interesting?
