Music in HQ

Post by Filmreelriley on Sat Oct 20, 2012 7:18 pm

Hi. I'm new so excuse me if I am a bit off in terms of forum etiquette. :)

I am a big fan of the HE music, and I know a lot of you are too. I am trying to collect HE soundtracks in high quality stereo. I know that "Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon" can be recorded in stereo MIDI, but I'm talking about the later games' actual recordings.

I have compiled a great soundtrack for "Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo", for which about 90% is HQ Stereo masters that I downloaded from The Fat Man's twitter (stupid twitter) and also from extracting "Pep's Birthday Surprise" re-used music. The rest are mastered from the HE4 file so they are not great quality.

My point being, I was wondering if anyone knew of anymore HQ versions of the other games' soundtracks? I'm most interested in PJSAM-3 and SPYFOX-1

So far, the Putt Zoo soundtrack is the only one to be officially released in HQ. If you're interested in getting any of The Fat Man's other soundtracks released, though, you can always send him a messageat his website.
Also, the Putt Moon soundtrack has a higher quality version of the music on the 3DO edition of the game, but those are a little more tricky to rip. It's nearly the same as the Windows soundtrack, except it's at a higher sample rate. It's at least good for making the lyrics in the opening more intelligible!

I have one of the tracks from Pajama Sam 3 in CD quality, taken from the original master. (It's the most memorable one too!)

That's awesome, where'd you find it? And could you perhaps send me a copy?

I actually found it in the Wii port of the first game of all places! I'll have it on mediafire in the morning!

There was a PlayStation version of Pajama Sam 3, which turned not only the music AM Radio Quality, but also the voices, too.

Uhh... the music quality is the same as the PC version. So are the voices, but only for the NTSC version. I suspect those were ripped from the game. Maybe Humongous wouldn't give them the master tapes? The voices are higher quality though in the PAL versions. WACKY!

Oh yeah... looks like I already had the file in my account. http://www.mediafire.com/?81gb7yquwy0sa28

Just heard from The Fat Man!

Regarding the release of music for Pajama Sam 3:

He said to get on the mailing list at sumthing.com- he writes:

"I may not be supposed to tell you this, but they are possibly planning something. Or, more accurately, "sumthing.";)"

Mr. Sanger was vaguely suggesting that the people at sumthing.com might be planning to release the music from Pajama Sam 3 on CD

Of course I already did that, along with a fuller orchestrated version of "Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise" soundtrack!
But I agree, I'd love to have studio-quality recordings of the Pajama Sam 1, Freddi Fish 1 and Spy Fox in Dry Cereal soundtracks!

Oh BTW, does this high-quality soundtrack include any of these music cues cut from reissues?

The HQ soundtrack I got from George Sanger's website is all jumbled around and unnamed. What I did was assemble it all and give the tracks names as to where they appear in the game, as well as including some mono rips from the HE4 for filler

The songs included were all from the '95 version, so yes the deleted music does appear in HQ. I do not believe the added '98 versions are included, however.
